Spring is not too far away, and The Berry Patch is working hard to prepare for a great Farm store season in 2010! We will have our usual array of great fruits and vegetables and have them earlier than ever. Every year we add new products, colors and tastes.

Check out our "free choice farm share" program. See below and call us at 733-6772 and we'll send you a brochure describing the program.

We will be at the Saturday Troy Farmer's market starting early June with salad greens at first. At the farm store, we should start at about the same time, with limited hours as the produce allows and then when fully open in strawberry season (mid-June) we will be open 10AM to 5:30 PM seven days a week.
For information, please call us at 733-6772
(during the season, at the farm store 733-1234).

WHAT IS the FREE CHOICE FARM SHARE?
Free Choice Farm Share™ is an improvement over a traditional Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. In a traditional CSA, consumers share the risk of producing a crop with the farmer, and receive a portion of the crop in return. This is fine in a good growing season, but when crops are short, quantities and selection are limited. With Free Choice Farm Share™, you, the shareholder, decide what you want, how much you want, and when you want it from the products harvested and sold daily at The Berry Patch farm store (many standard CSA's decide what quantities you may have).

HOW DOES IT WORK? You decide how much of a farm share you want to purchase for the year (in $100 increments), pay for it before March 31, 2010 and you will get a card with the value of your share + a percentage (based on when you pay) to be used towards purchases of any products at The Berry Patch farm store. Bring your card each time you shop at the farm store and the amount of your purchase will be deducted from your card each time. So say you decide to purchase a $500 share. By paying $500 by Febraury 16, 2010, you are buying yourself $535 worth of products at The Berry Patch that can be used anytime during 2010 when The Berry Patch is open.

Remember, each year we have new fruits, vegetables and other products and each year we expand the length of the season that we are open. Please stop by for the same great produce and products you've enjoyed in the past, plus new flavors, colors, and shapes.

The Berry Patch is a first generation family farm run by the wife/husband team of Dale Riggs and Don Miles. We offer no-spray or low spray berries in season; the freshest, finest, locally grown fruits and vegetables through our farm store; organic maple syrup; locally produced honey and jams; and an amazing array of fall ornamental crops. We are constantly experimenting with crops and growing techniques.

You can learn more about the berries we grow by visiting our berry pages below and be sure to visit the Farm Store to see what's in stock.
